Product Description

This beautiful driguk is made of brass and a carved pure meteorite blade (naturally formed from iron and nickle) by the artisans of Natsog Dorje Artist Collective. The driguk is 5.75" from top to lowest part of blade, and the meteorite blade itself is 3.75" long from end to end.

Driguks are ritual flaying knifes used by dakinis to terrify and overcome demons and negative forces. This driguk is decorative and the blade is not sharpened.

Why Use Meteorite?

meteorite is a solid piece of debris from an object, such as a cometasteroid, or meteoroid, that originates in outer space and survives its passage through the Earth's atmosphere and impact with the Earth's surface

Meteoric iron was highly prized throughout the Himalayas, where it was included in ritual implements.

When making "meteor" blades, oriental masters would ritually throw a bit of the “heavenly metal” into the molten metals contained in the crucible, and then declare it was now "meteoric iron." Natsog Dorje artisans use pure meteorite. Looking at their meteorite pieces, you can see the original inhomogeneous structure of the meteorite, the beauty of which the artists of Natsog Dorje try to highlight as much as possible. This heavenly pattern cannot be reproduced on Earth, in spite of modern technology.

The Meteorite used to make this blade was found in Seymchan, Russia. The Seymchan meteorite belongs to Main Group pallasites, and is considered a stable and rust-resistant pallasite.
