Intricately handcrafted phurba, created by the master craftspeople at the renowned artist studio, Natsog Dorje. The phurba symbolizes the enlightened activity of all Buddhas of the three times: past, present, and future. Specifically, it is an implement for wrathful activity, which is to say, the most powerful form of compassionate wisdom in existence. According to Drubpon Pema Rigdzin, the word phurba, or kila, can be translated as "peg" or "dagger". The peg (stake) is that which gives you unshakable stability, while a dagger is the weapon that cuts through the dualistic perception of the three poisons of desire, anger and ignorance to reveal their true nature. The design for this one-of-a-kind phurba is based on a terma (hidden Dharma treasure) from Dudjom Lingpa, the 19th century emissary of Guru Rinpoche and founder of the Dudjom Tersar Tradition.
