Beautiful gold-plated and painted Amitabha statue. Amitabha represents the enlightened speech of all Buddhas. He is the head of the lotus family of Buddhas, which focuses on transforming ordinary passion into the wisdom of compassion. Chenrezig (Avalokitesvara) is an emanation of Amitabha. Additionally, because he vowed to help migrating beings, there are many P'howa (transferance at the time of death) practices which aim to guide one directly to his pureland, Dewachen.
