Gold-polished metal stupa made by traditional Nepali artisans. This Stupa ("Chorten" in Tibetan) is decorated with coral and turqoise colored beads. Stupas are traditional Buddhist statues meant to symbolize the mind of awakening. The structure of a stupa typically has three main parts: a throne base, a dome (vase, or bumpa), and a spire. They are usually filled with relics and blessed items, which are said to help to connect practitioners to blessings of the lineage and their own Buddha nature. It is said that connecting with a Stupa produces vast amounts of merit, bringing one closer to one's own enlightened awareness.
Bottom can be opened to be filled and consecrated.
