Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, helped to establish the Dharma in Tibet in the eighth century by constructing Samye Monastary, the first Buddhist monastary in Tibet. He is often called the Buddha of our times, or the Second Buddha. To benefit beings, Guru Rinpoche manifests in various forms, each with a symbolic meaning.
