Guru Rinpoche Statue Set, Yeshe Tsogyal & Mandarava
Guru Rinpoche Statue Set, Yeshe Tsogyal & Mandarava
This amazing Guru Rinpoche statue set, cast in copper and polished with a dark oxidized finish, was hand-crafted in Nepal. Sitting next to Guru Rinpoche are his main disciple and consort, Yeshe Tsogyal, on his right, and princess Mandarava, with whom he attainted immortality, on his left. Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, helped to establish the Dharma in Tibet in the eighth century by subduing the local demonic forces and constructing Samye Monastery, the first Buddhist monastery in Tibet. He and his consort, Yeshe Tsogyal, are considered the heart essence of the Dzogchen teachings and the source of the Nyingma school's terma tradition. Mandarava is depicted holding a longevity vase, for she and Guru Rinpoche achieved the essence of immortality in the hidden caves in Chimpu. The detail and finish on this set are truly breathtaking in person. Guru Rinpoche's eyes and goatee are made of silver, which creates a luminous contrast, making them glow with a lifelike quality. Every square inch of these statues is absolutely exquisite. Statues like these are one of a kind, or in this case, three of a kind! These are truly masterpieces, and powerful supports to inspire anyone's Dharma practice. May all beings benefit!
