MOWARE stands for Mountain Waste Repurpose. They are cleaning up the mountains, creating jobs, and giving a new meaning to the waste left behind in the Himalayas.
Started in 2013, MOWARE has collected and transformed a total of 60 000 kg of waste generated in Kathmandu Valley and the Khumbu region. Moreover, they have trained and empowered 25 women to utilize their skill set and innate love of creation to better their lives and better our planet.
The Mandala candle holder can be used as a candle, tea light, or incense burner. It is inspired by the geometric structure of mandalas found in traditional Buddhist motifs in art & architecture. Designed by Super Local for MOWARE, the mandala candle holder is entirely made from HDPE plastic.
Available in three colors: red, yellow, and blue. Each piece features a unique color combination, as it is made from recycled plastic, preserving the natural hues of the material. It can hold a taper candle of 2 cm diameter as well as an incense stick with or without bamboo.
