Taksang Monastery in Bhutan

Taksang is one of the most famous monasteries in Bhutan. It hangs on a cliff at over ten thousand feet above the bottom of Paro valley. The name Taksang means "Tiger's nest", referring to the account that relates how Padmasambhava flew there on the back of a tiger. The monastery includes seven temples which can all be visited.
