Exquisite traditional painted thangka with blue, red, and gold brocade.
The wrathful manifestation of Avalokiteshvara, Hayagriva symbolizes enlightened speech and is depicted with a neighing horse head protruding from the crown of his head. In his six hands, he holds vajra hammer, vajra-topped sandalwood club, phurba, lasso, wisdom sword, and kapala. His three faces each have three eyes and are wrathfully radiant with bared fangs. His four legs stand atop male and female corpses, and he is surrounded by blazing fire. His two beautiful wings are unfurled. He is in union with his consort.
