Tara or Jetsun Dolma is a female Bodhisattva who is known as the "mother of liberation", and represents the female aspect of enlightened mind. White tara is the longevity form of Tara.
These statues have been gilded through a process of electric gold plating, which deposits a thin layer of gold upon the exterior with an electro-chemical process. The end result is absolutely stunning.
